EPDM MembraneME220Usage / PurposeME220 EPDM membrane is used forsealing the connecting joint betweena window or a faade and an adjacentstructure (e.g. a wall, concrete panel,steel frame, etc.), or to provide aninternal air-tight barrier in a similardetail. Where the membrane ispositioned in the cold zone however, avapour tight membrane such as EPDMcan increase the risk of condensation,and a vapour open membrane such asME501 Duo Membrane HD is normally abetter solution. 

If an internal and external membraneis required, in order to meet theprinciple of 'inside tighter than outside™,ME220 should be located as the innermembrane and ME501 Duo WindowMembrane HD as the outer membrane.This will ensure that the inner seal ismore vapour tight than the outer whichwill facilitate drying out of any entrappedmoisture between the two layers.
